Mueller awarded Patriot League Runner of the Week laurels

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's cross country senior Tyler Mueller has been named the Patriot League Runner of the Week, as announced on Monday. Mueller placed sixth at the 40th Annual Paul Short Run to become the highest Lehigh finisher in the race since 1976.
The Pottstown, Pa. native ran a personal best 23:58 at Saturday's Men's College Gold 8K race. The blistering pace topped his previous personal best, which came at last year's Paul Short Run, by more than 30 seconds. Mueller was the top Patriot League runner at the event, finishing eight places ahead of the next Patriot League finisher.
Mueller and his teammates placed 24th at the prestigious race. This is the first Runner of the Week award of Mueller's career. A Lehigh runner has been named Runner of the Week for every week the Mountain Hawks have competed this season. Junior Ryan Mahalsky captured the award after the Lehigh Invitational and junior Ingrid Simon was honored with the accolade after the Lehigh-Lafayette dual.
The Mountain Hawk men will return to action in two weeks when the team will split to travel to two Invitationals at Princeton and Lafayette.
