Mountain Hawks improve to seventh place finish at Rutgers Invitational

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – With junior Kelly Moylan leading the way, the Lehigh women's golf team finished strong at the Rutgers Invitational, which concluded Tuesday at the Rutgers University Golf Course. Moylan shot 74 Tuesday to tie for 18th overall at 81-74-155 as the Mountain Hawks improved by 14 strokes from Monday's round to finish seventh in a 20-team field with a score of 322-308-630.
 
Moylan led the Mountain Hawks with four birdies over the two-day, 36-hole event and was one of just five players in the field to be under par in on the par fives over two days.
 
Sophomore Nicole Feierberg posted Lehigh's second-lowest score on Tuesday with a 77 as she tied for 34th place at 82-77-159. One stroke behind Feierberg was senior Crystal Lee, who shot 81-79-160 to tie for 36th.
 
Junior Melanie Dickens was Lehigh's low player on Monday with a 78. Dickens carded an 83 on Tuesday to tie for 48th at 161. Freshman Elizabeth McGarrigle rounded out Lehigh's scoring contingent, rallying from an opening round 88 to shoot 78 on Tuesday and tie for 68th at 166.
 
Both of Lehigh's individuals shot 85 on Tuesday as junior Alyssa Scheyd tied for 79th at 84-85-169 and freshman Claire Serruto shot 87-85-172 to tie for 94th.
 
Delaware captured the team title with a score of 302-301-603, five strokes better than second place Seton Hall. Lehigh finished higher than host Rutgers (T-8th) and Patriot League members Bucknell (10th) and Navy (20th).
 
Seton Hall's Erin McClure was the individual medalist at two over par 146 (73-73). McClure bested Delaware's Amanda Terzian and LIU Brooklyn's Marisol Doglioli by one stroke.
 
The Mountain Hawks will close out their fall season when they host the Lehigh Invitational October 27-28 at Saucon Valley Country Club.Â
