BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh head men's basketball coach Brett Reed announced two additions to the coaching staff on Tuesday, Rob Fusaro as Director of Basketball Operations and Jimmy Bradshaw as Graduate Manager. Both have been part of the program for the last several months, serving various capacities. Fusaro takes over as Director of Operations after Joe Knight accepted a position as Director of Corporate Fundraising and Sponsorship at a university in North Carolina.
Fusaro will continue as video coordinator as well. Bradshaw will assist with administrative roles while also focusing on statistical analysis.
Fusaro comes to Lehigh from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia where he served as assistant coach for five seasons. He was the program's primary recruiting coordinator, recruiting two 1,000 point scorers and helping develop three All-CACC players. Other duties included organizing individual workouts, scouting reports for future opponents and more.
"We're pleased to have Rob join our staff and expand his capacity for our program," said Reed. "He has years of college coaching experience to draw from and now a familiarity with our basketball program, being with us over the last few months. His transition into Director of Basketball Operations will expand his responsibilities, yet also keep him involved with an area that he's had extensive training in thus far, and that's the breakdown of our basketball video needs."
Prior to Chestnut Hill, Fusaro was assistant coach at Gwynedd-Mercy College in Pennsylvania. Fusaro helped coach the Griffins to a 21-10 record, winning the 2007 Coles Classic Tournament and finishing as runner-up in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) and the Eastern Collegiate Athletics Conference (ECAC) South Regional Tournament. He also has experience working the Hoop Group Top 100 camp as basketball instructor.
Fusaro graduated from Elizabethtown College in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. He was a three-year member of the Blue Jays basketball team.
Bradshaw, who is currently in graduate school at Lehigh, enters his first season as Graduate Manager. The Economics major comes to Lehigh after graduating from Roanoke College where he was a member of its varsity basketball team. Bradshaw was a standout on and off the court, as a member of the ODAC All-Academic Team, NABC Honor Roll and winner of the 2012 ODAC Sportsmanship Award.
"Jimmy has established himself as an excellent asset for our program," said Reed. "His initial focus was in advanced analytics to allow our program to statistically measure performance. His role will be expanded to include elements of team travel while supporting a lot of the administrative aspects of our program. He will hold a lot of responsibilities that are critical to the functioning of a Division I basketball program."
Bradshaw also served as Roanoke's videographer from 2009-11 and the videographer of the ODAC Tournament. He worked the Hoop Group Skills Camp this past summer, leading the early bird skill instruction workout. Bradshaw has served as counselor for numerous summer camps, including at Lehigh this past June and August.
The Mountain Hawks are four days into preseason practice as a young squad continues to prepare for the season opener at Minnesota on Nov. 8. Check back to Lehighsports.com for continued updates leading into the 2012-13 season.
