McCollum earns invite to prestigious LeBron James Skills Academy

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh men's basketball standout C.J. McCollum is one of only 20 college players participating in the prestigious LeBron James Skills Academy from July 6-9 in Las Vegas. Earlier this summer, McCollum took part in the Kevin Durant camp before being invited to the selective LeBron James Academy. The nation's top players will hone their games in front of hundreds of media members and scouts from every NBA team.
McCollum will have a busy stretch; he'll head to Los Angeles following the academy for the ESPY Awards on Wednesday, July 11 at 9 p.m. ET. In total, the nation's top 80 high school players and 20 college players will convene at Rancho High School in North Las Vegas to learn from many of the elite instructors in the game. Hosted by three-time NBA MVP LeBron James, the academy will feature four days of intense skill development work and competition.
McCollum averaged 21.9 points and 6.5 rebounds per game last season, shooting 44.3 percent from the field along while adding a team-leading 124 assists. He currently owns 2,074 career points, good for second in school history and third in league history, just 150 behind the Patriot League mark (2,224). The two-time Patriot League Player of the Year was named ECAC Player of the Year and an AP Honorable Mention All-American last season.
