Lehigh places fourth at Lafayette 7 Way Sunday

EASTON, Pa. – The Lehigh men's track and field team placed fourth at the Lafayette 7 Way Sunday with 93 points. Christopher Buck won the hammer throw and also placed second in the shot put. Alexander Maurer won the long jump and had a second place in the high jump. Martin Otieno won his section in the 100m dash while Robert Hugin won his section in the 400m hurdles.
Buck's winning hammer throw distance was 47.75m while his second place distance in the shot put was 15.08m, which was just .08m behind first.
Maurer's winning distance in the long jump was 6.66m while his second place distance in the high jump was 1.95m. Maurer's time of 59.54 also placed him third in Hugin's section of the 400m hurdles.
Hugin won the section with a time of 57.71.
Otieno won his section in the 100m dash with a time of 11.00.
Joseph Gianndrea took second behind Buck in the hammer throw with a distance of 47.18m while Benjamin Sourbeer earned a second place in the discus throw with a distance of 45.73m. Benjamin Beauchamp placed fourth in the discus with a distance 43.29m.
Donald Scatena placed third in the pole vault with a distance of 4.05m.
In the 400m dash, Justin Mahoney finished second in his section with a time of 50.04 while John Ciavardelli placed second in his section in the event with a time of 51.49.
Mitchell Bilar placed second in his section in the 1500m-run with a time of 4:06.21.
Lafayette won the meet with 137.5 points while Rider finished second (133.5) and East Stroudsburg was third (104). After Lehigh, Saint Joseph's was fifth (84), Monmouth was sixth (25) and Muhlenberg was seventh (11).
The Mountain Hawks will look to build off this momentum when it heads back to Lafayette next Saturday, April 7 for a dual meet vs. the Leopards.
