KISSIMMEE, Fla. – On its final day of action in Florida, Lehigh split a pair of contests at the Rebel Spring Games. Sophomore Ashley Quigley recorded 11 strikeouts as Lehigh downed Manhattan 6-3 in Friday's first game, but Yale scored an unearned run in the bottom of the seventh to defeat the Mountain Hawks 4-3 in game two. After a 7-3 showing at the Rebel Spring Games, Lehigh is now 8-8 on the season.

Seniors Jen Colquhoun and Julie Fernandez continued to pace the Lehigh offense as they combined to go 5-for-9 in Friday's opener versus Manhattan. The duo combined to give Lehigh a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first as Colquhoun delivered a two-out single and then scored on a double by Fernandez.
Along with her 11 strikeouts, Quigley walked four Jaspers and allowed three runs on six hits in 5.1 innings of work. Quigley ran into trouble in the top of the third, loading the bases with two outs before Carla Velasquez's two-run single gave Manhattan a 3-2 lead.

Lehigh rallied to re-take the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning on a two-out, pinch-hit, two-run double off the bat of sophomore Kelsey Lee. The Mountain Hawks' freshmen class helped extend the lead in the bottom of the fifth as Cassie Waggy drew a bases-loaded walk and two batters later Emily Bausher delivered a pinch-hit two-run single.

Manhattan (0-1) scored a run back in the top of the sixth, but junior Becca Bliss came on to limit the damage and then retired the Jaspers in order in the seventh. Quigley moved to 3-1 on the season with the win, while Kelsi Redding took the loss for Manhattan.

The Mountain Hawks struck first in game two against Yale as junior Kristen Mitchell singled home Waggy in the top of the second. The Bulldogs struck for two runs off Bausher in the bottom of the second on back-to-back RBI doubles by Riley Hughes and Meg Johnson.

Yale added a run in the bottom of the fourth to lead 3-1 before Lehigh put together a rally to tie the game in the sixth. Senior Audra Wood led off with a single to center and then came around to score when Colquhoun tripled to right center. Two batters later junior Liz Lucas singled home Colquhoun to tie the game at three.

Johnson led off the bottom of the seventh for Yale with a single and then stole second base. After a fly out and a strikeout, Johnson moved to third on an infield single by Jennifer Ong. Tori Balta then hit a ground ball to shortstop that Colquhoun was unable to handle cleanly, allowing Johnson to come home with the winning run.

Bausher took the loss for Lehigh as she fell to 4-4 on the season. She allowed four runs (two earned) on seven hits while walking one and striking out six.

Chelsea Dunham limited the Mountain Hawks to five hits as she earned the win for Yale. The Bulldogs are now 3-2.

The Mountain Hawks will return at the Radford Invitational, March 17-18 in Virginia. Lehigh will play four games in two days; two against Binghamton and two against the host Highlanders.
