Michalek leads Mountain Hawks to fourth place at Spider Intercollegiate

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – The Lehigh women's golf team wrapped-up action at the Spider Spring Intercollegiate Tuesday at Independence Golf Club Tuesday. Although the Mountain Hawks did not have the best scoring day, they did play well enough to move up into fourth place in the 14 team field finishing at 961 (319-318-324).
 
Junior Chelsea Michalek was Lehigh's top finisher tying for 14th place at 233 (76-77-80). Classmate Ginette Schapira was the Mountain Hawks' next highest finisher shooting 241 (78-79-84) to tie for 32nd place. Sophomore Crystal Lee finished three strokes behind Schapira at 244 (83-81-80) and tying for 38th.
 
Freshmen Melanie Dickens and Kelly Moylan also competed for Lehigh with Dickens tying for 47th at 247 (82-83-82) and Moylan shooting 249 (86-81-82) to tie for 52nd place.
 
Harin Lee of St. John's shot a two over par 218 (73-73-72) to earn medalist honors by nine strokes over Kayla Sciupider of Rollins College.
 
The Red Storm also cruised to a ten shot victory in the team race at 911 (301-305-305). Georgetown finished second at 921, while host Richmond finished third at 927.
 
The Mountain Hawks will wrap-up their spring season at the Roar-EE Invitational hosted by Columbia in Suffern, N.Y. April 13-14.
