Mountain Hawks finish up spring season on final day at Roar-EE Invitational

SUFFERN, N.Y. – The Lehigh women's golf team wrapped up action at the Roar-EE Invitational, its final event of the season on Saturday. The Mountain Hawks had a strong second-round score of 316 to finish ninth in the 14-team field at 648 (332-316). Junior Chelsea Michalek was Lehigh's top individual finisher, tying for 16th at 157 (77-80), as action concluded at Spook Rock Golf Course.
 
Freshman Melanie Dickens shot the low round of the day for Lehigh, carding a 77 to move into a tie for 34th at 164 (87-77). Others who competed for Lehigh included sophomore Crystal Lee, who shot 162 (83-79) and tied for 28th place, junior Ginette Schapira, who tied for 39th at 165 (85-80), and freshman Kelly Moylan who shot 181 (91-90) to finish in 66th place.
 
As a team the Mountain Hawks finished seven strokes behind eighth place Long Island and six ahead of tenth place Hofstra. Harvard (306-294-600) captured the team title over host Columbia (309-297-606).
 
Columbia's Michelle Piyapattra captured individual medalist honors shooting 144 (75-69) to edge Jane Lee of Harvard by one stroke.
 
The Roar-EE Invitational marks the completion of Lehigh's spring season, one that saw the Mountain Hawks win the Sunshine Spring Classic in Florida for the second straight year.
