Schapira, freshmen pace Mountain Hawks at Rutgers Invitational

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Lehigh women's golf team shot a final-round 320 to finish in ninth place at the Rutgers Invitational, which wrapped-up Saturday on the Rutgers University Golf Course. The Mountain Hawks finished at 643 (323-320) with the trio of senior Ginette Schapira and freshmen Tess Jennings and Nicole Feierberg leading Lehigh's scoring players, tying for 34th place.
 
Schapira and the two freshmen each finished at 160, with the senior co-captain firing back-to-back rounds of 80. Jennings followed up an 81 on Friday with a 79 on Saturday, while Feierberg followed up an 82 with a 78 on Saturday. The 78 was the low round of the weekend among Lehigh's five scoring players.
 
Junior Crystal Lee tied for 50th place after finishing at 163 (80-83), while senior Chelsea Michalek shot 168 (82-86) and tied for 73rd.
 
Lehigh's top overall finisher was sophomore Kelly Moylan, who competed as an individual and tied for 16th place at 155 (77-78). Sophomore Melanie Dickens shot 165 (83-82) and tied for 58th place.
 
Seton Hall captured the team title with a score of 603 (299-304) to defeat Rutgers by seven strokes. Harin Lee of St. John's won medalist honors shooting 146 (73-73), to win by four shots over five players who tied for second.
 
Lehigh will wrap-up its fall season when the Mountain Hawks host the Lehigh Invitational October 20-21 at Saucon Valley Country Club.
