Mountain Hawks complete successful weekend at Patriot League Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – After two days of the Patriot League Indoor Track Championships, the Lehigh women's team sits in second place while the men's team is in fifth. Sunday will be the third and final day of the championships.
On the women's side, junior Alexandra Doersam finished in first place for the long jump, as she posted a distance of 5.49 meters. She edged Joel Nielson of Lafayette by .01 meters in the event.
Lehigh also had a pair of second place finishers in Saturday's events. Junior Katherine Pierce ran a 17:25.15 time in the 5000 meter run to place her in the second position. American's Octavia Rinehardt won the event by an impressive 14 seconds. Over in the weight throw event, sophomore E'Lana Lemon continued her strong play this season, as she placed second, with a throw of 16.74 meters.
Over on the men's side, senior Kyle Forrest took a first place finish in the 1000 meter run heptathlon event, posting time of 2:44.16. In the 60 meter hurdle heptathlon event, Ryan Paquin posted a time of 8.70 seconds, good enough for second place.
The remaining field events will and Patriot League Championships will conclude on Sunday.
