Lehigh places fourth at Lafayette Invitational

EASTON, Pa. – The Lehigh men's cross country team placed fourth of 13 teams with 116 points at the Lafayette Invitational Saturday. The Mountain Hawks were led by Ryan Mahalsky who placed 10th overall out of 111 runners with a time of 26:49.5. Three Lehigh runners crossed the finish line soon after as Nick Ward, Ryan Knouse and Dan Soltan placed 22nd-24th respectively.
 
Simon Voorhees then placed 37th for the Mountain Hawks while Russ Vignali was 45th and Nick Malloy was 51st.
 
American won the race with 20 points while St. Francis placed second (54 points) and La Salle took third (84 points). Chris Mills of St. Francis won the race with a time of 25:47.6 as American placed runners second through sixth.
 
While the men's cross country team split up its squad for two different races over the weekend, they will return all together in two weeks to compete in the Patriot League Championship which Lehigh will host on the Goodman Campus Course Saturday, October 29th at 11 a.m.
