Lehigh off to a strong start at the Coach P. Open

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Two events are in the books at the 2010 Coach P. Open at Moravian and the Lehigh women took first in both events, while the men placed first in one of them. Junior Emily Settle placed first in the hammer throw and her classmate Rebecca Graziano finished first in the shot put to lead the women. On the men’s side, senior Nick Ray continued his strong season by taking first in the shot put.
“I’m very happy with the start we got tonight,” head coach Matt Utesch said. “I expected Nick and Emily to perform well, but I was pleasantly surprised at Rebecca’s finish. There are a lot of events left tomorrow, but we’re off to a good start.”
Settle won the hammer throw with a distance of 152’ 11 and Graziano had a throw of 35’ 4” in the shot put. Ray easily defeated his competition with a throw of 52’ 8.25” in the shot put.
