Volleyball will host St. Francis, N.Y. in home opener

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women’s volleyball team returns to action Tuesday in their home opener against St. Francis (N.Y.) at 7 p.m. at Leeman-Turner Arena.
This is the sixth all-time meeting between Lehigh and St. Francis (N.Y.), with Lehigh leading with a 4-1 record in the series. The teams’ last match-up was in 2001 with St. Francis winning 3-2.
The Mountain Hawks are coming off a week-long break from Wednesday when they played a double-header against Morgan State and Towson, losing 3-0 and 3-1, respectively. Lehigh’s overall record going into Tuesday night is 1-5.
The Morgan State Bears defeated Lehigh 25-20, 25-14 and 25-22. In four matches versus the Towson Tigers, the Mountain Hawks succeeded in taking the third set 26-24 after losing 25-17 and 25-21 in the first two. The Tigers also took the fourth set 26-24 in an extremely close match.
Mo McReynolds, senior captain, led Lehigh against Morgan State with 10 kills and a .304 hitting percentage. She was assisted by sophomore Chelsea Sheridan who added eight kills and a .400 hitting percentage.
McReynolds continued to shine against Towson with a match-high 13 kills. Sheridan also built on her great night by adding another 10 kills. Both were assisted by Brittany Dickinson who had a match-high 30 assists.
