Four Mountain Hawks earn PL honorable mention

Swift joins freshman Nick Ray as the only Mountain Hawks to receive three league honors this spring. With Tuesday’s award, it is the third time Swift has received an honorable mention. On Thursday night at Penn Relays, Swift qualified for his second event at the IC4A meet. Competing in the 3000 meter steeplechase, he finished fourth in a time of 9:08.30—eight seconds faster than his previous season-best.
Uqdah picked up his second honorable mention of the season with a 15’7” clear in the eastern section of the pole vault that placed fourth on Friday afternoon at Penn Relays. It was the second time this season in which the Baltimore-native jumped 15’7”, having previously done so at the Bison Outdoor Classic two weeks ago.
Also competing at Penn Relays, Montegary leapt 17’10¼” in Thursday’s long jump. It was her second-furthest mark in the event this season. Meanwhile, Stellar won the 3000 meter steeplechase at the Lehigh Games on Saturday. She crossed the finish line in a winning-time of 12:00.44.
The Mountain Hawks and their award winners compete in the Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championships that will take place Friday and Saturday on Lehigh’s Goodman Campus. Friday’s events begin with the decathlon, women’s javelin and men’s hammer at 1:00 pm. Track events on Friday are set to start at 3:30 pm. Saturday’s competition begins at 9:00 am with the conclusion of the decathlon and heptathlon. Track events start at 10:45 am, while field events begin at 11:00.
