Mountain Hawks return to competition on Friday

On the women’s side, freshman Ashlee Atwell set a new program record in the pole vault. Atwell leapt 11’1” (3.38 meters) to break Emily Roth’s ’08 mark of 10’11¾” (3.35 meters). Meanwhile, senior Nicole Montegary and sophomore Jen Therkorn each won the 60m dash and the 800m run, respectively. The Mountain Hawk women finished first in five events.
On the men’s side, the Mountain Hawks took first in six events. Senior David Falk was the only Mountain Hawk to win two track events as he took first in the 60m dash (7.0 seconds) and the 200m dash (22.9 seconds). Freshman Franklin Johnson led the Mountain Hawks in the field events, placing second in both the long jump and triple jump.
For their efforts in Lehigh’s first meet of the season, Falk, Johnson and Atwell all received weekly honors from the Patriot League on December 12. Falk was named the Male Track Performer of the Week. Johnson was selected as the Male Field Performer of the Week, while Atwell picked up an honorable mention.
