Lehigh preps for upcoming championships

In the men’s competition, Brian Ahearn crossed the finish line in a time of 2:27.93, placing him in third place in the 1000-meters, and helping him a earn a spot in the IC4A’s, while teammate Garrett Zambrows finished the 800-meters in a time of 1:53.65, good for third place and an IC4A spot as well. Dave Merola finished in the top-ten of the one-mile run, with a time of 4:21.41, while freshman Scott Robinson took fourth place in the 400-metrs, crossing in a time of 50.07. David Falk finished in fifth place in the 200-meter dash, with a time of 22.35 and Sean Swift and Brendan Glover took second and third places, respectively in the 3000-meters, with Steve Rosinski right behind in fifth.
On the women’s side, junior Jen Schappert broke the school record in the one-mile run, which previously stood at 5:02.40, as the Maryland native crossed in 4:58.77, good for second place and a spot in the ECAC Championships. Classmate Nicole Montegary broke her own school record in the 200-meters, with a time of 25.80, placing her in seventh place, while Claire Sharman cleared 10’10” in the pole vault, tying the school mark set by teammate Emily Roth. Sarah Seiler and Carolyn House finished two-three in the 3000-meters, crossing in 10:16 and 10:17, respectively.
