Hinsch leaps to Patriot League Award

Junior Lindsay Hinsch has been named the Patriot League’s Field Athlete of the Week following a pair of first place finishes at the Lehigh-Lafayette Indoor Dual on January 24. Hinsch recorded first place finishes in both the triple jump with a leap of 11.02 and the long jump with a distance of 5.54.

Head Coach Matt Utesch says that Lindsay has been improving all season long and this honor is well-deserving. “Lindsay did a nice job at the Penn State Relays, although the marks did not reflect that. We have been peaking her in terms of training, getting her ready for the Patriot League Championships.” Utesch adds, “She has been looking better and better at each meet and we all expect her to contend in both of these events at the Patriot League Championships.”

Lehigh returns to action on Saturday when the Mountain Hawks host the John Covert Classic. The meet is scheduled to begin at 12:00. All of the actio will take place at Rauch Fieldhouse on Lehigh’s Goodman Campus.
