Barrett represents Lehigh at NCAAs

Sacramento, CA – Lehigh freshman Lauren Barrett threw the javelin 40.42 meters (132’ 7") in the preliminaries of the NCAA Track & Field Championships held at the University of California-Sacramento late Wednesday night. Barrett’s top throw placed her 26th in the event. The athletes with the 12 longest throws advanced to the finals.

Barrett qualified to compete at the NCAA Championships after setting a new personal record with a throw of 47.82 meters (156’ 11") at the first-ever NCAA Track & Field East Regional in Fairfax, Virginia.

Barrett became the first Lehigh female to ever qualify for the NCAA Championships with her efforts in the javelin.
