Deliz named Athlete of the Week

Bethlehem, PA – After a strong performance at the Armory Invitational, senior Yasmin Deliz has been named both the Patriot League and ECAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week.

Deliz captured the awards after placing ninth in the shot put at Armory in New York City. Her toss of 42’ 5 ½" put her in the top ten, and was over a foot longer than the tenth place toss. Deliz was one of just five Lehigh competitors to finish in the top ten in their event.

Earlier this season, Deliz set a school record in the shot put by hurling it 45’ 6 ¾" at the Rutgers Invitational.

Deliz will attempt to defend her Patriot League shot put title when she and her Mountian Hawk teammates travel to the Patriot League Championships on the Colgate campus in Hamilton, New York. The championships begin on Friday, February 21 and continue until Sunday, February 23.
