Watson earns Track Athlete of the Week honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Latasha Watson didn’t get the chance to race in the finals at the Winthrop Invitational over the weekend, but she was able to take home some hardware as the Patriot League female track athlete of the week on Tuesday.

Watson broke two school records in Rock Hill, S.C., putting up times of 25.52 in the 200 and 57.15 in the 400 in the prelims on Friday. Watson qualified for the finals in each event, but weather conditions on Saturday caused a shakeup in scheduling, and Watson sat out the championship round.

Watson’s 200 meter time was the third fastest in the Patriot League this season, and her 400 meter time was the best in the league in 2009.

Lehigh returns to the track on Goodman Campus on Saturday when it competes in the Lafayette Dual.
