Lehigh closes out regular season vs. Holy Cross

Lehigh closes out its regular season on Friday evening with yet another pivotal contest, this one coming against the Holy Cross Crusaders at Stabler Arena. The Mountain Hawks downed Bucknell on Wednesday evening 50-39 behind their strongest defensive effort of the season, harassing the Bison into a 33 percent shooting performance. Freshman Rob Keefer handled the offense for Lehigh with a career-high 17 points, while sophomores Marquis Hall and Zahir Carrington combined for 23 points of their own. Holy Cross enters this game looking to snap a two-game losing streak versus Patriot League teams, including a 63-55 setback to Colgate on Wednesday in
Lehigh put on a defensive clinic on Wednesday versus Bucknell holding the Bison to 39 points on 33 percent shooting. The 39 points allowed were the second fewest Lehigh has ever given up during Patriot League play after holding Navy to just 38 points in 2004.
Lehigh was able to down Bucknell on Wednesday despite shooting just 32 percent from the floor. That was the lowest mark the Mountain Hawks shot in a win since downing Bucknell 57-54 at Stabler Arena on February 6, 2005. Lehigh shot 31 percent from the field that day.
Friday’s tip-off is scheduled for 9:00 pm from Lehigh’s Stabler Arena. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $5 by calling 610-7LU-GAME or by logging onto Lehighsports.com. They can also be purchased at the arena box office prior to tip-off for $8.
