Rowland and Olivero garner department awards

Lehigh held its annual Convocation Program on Monday morning at Grace Hall to look back on the accomplishments of the past year for both team and individual performances. Award winners included senior Austen Rowland and freshman Jose Olivero. Rowland, who was named the Graduating Male Athlete of the Year, was named the Patriot League Player of the Year, as well as the Patriot League Tournament MVP and an Associated Press All-American. Rowland helped lead Lehigh to its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 1988.
Olivero earned the J. Daniel Nolan Award presented to the top male freshman athlete each year. Olvero was a Patriot League All-Freshman Team selection and scored the second most points by a freshman in Lehigh history with 348. He also had a flair for the dramatic, hitting two game-winning shots, including one that defeated American in the Patriot League Championship game, which sent the Mountain Hawks to the NCAA Tournament.
