Patriot League play starts for Lehigh

The Mountain Hawks have completed the non-league portion of their schedule, and will head into the Navy contest with a season opening record that has not been rivaled in more than ten years. Lehigh is fresh off a hard fought win vs. Haverford. The squad had four players in double figures. Zlatko Savovic and Matt Crawford led the way, posting 14 points each, while Mitch Gilfillan and Matt Logie managed 11 points. Navy is entering Saturday’s Patriot League opener following a 56-43 loss at Air Force. The Midshipmen have four players who average double digits. Jason Jeanpierre leads the way with 13.7 points per game, while Scott Long is second with 10.8 points per game. Rounding out the quartet are Marcell Cummings and Francis Ebong. Each average 10.3 and 10.2 points per game respectively. Saturday’s game can be heard live on the Lehigh website at www.lehigh.edu and on Oldies 1470, WKAP. Airtime is 3:15 with Matt Kerr providing the play by play.
