Bethlehem, PA – Head coach Billy Taylor has announced the hiring of two assistant coaches for the Lehigh men’s basketball program. Both Brett Reed and Nathan Jameson join Taylor on the Lehigh coaching staff in hopes of building a winning tradition. Brett Reed comes to Lehigh after serving as the top assistant at High Point University in High Point, North Carolina over the past two seasons. Reed was an integral part of the coaching staff that led the Panthers to the Big South championship game earlier this season. Prior to his stint at High Point, Reed served as the Director of Basketball Operations at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, where Taylor served as an assistant. The 1995 graduate of Eckerd College also has coaching experience on both the junior college and high school levels. Reed earned his Master’s at Wayne State, where he received the Thomas C. Rumbell Fellowship. That prestigious honor indicates he will receive his Doctoral Degree in Instructional Technology. "Brett is a hard-working, disciplined, hungry young coach," said Taylor, set to enter his first season as the Mountain Hawks’ head coach. "He possesses a great knowledge of the game, and will be able to use that to build a strong relationship with our players. He will be valuable with recruiting, continuing to attract quality prospects." Nathan Jameson joins the Lehigh staff after playing under Taylor at UNC Greensboro. The 2001 UNCG grad boasts impressive credentials. Jameson was a two-time Academic All-American selection, and a 1,000 point scorer. The former captain helped lead the Spartans to one of the biggest win-loss turnarounds in earning an NCAA Tournament berth in 2001. Jameson was a double major in Political Science and Communications. "Nathan is a very bright young man with a genuine passion for the game of basketball," Taylor said. "He really enjoys the teaching aspects of the game. With his strong academic background and great personality, I know that Nathan is an excellent fit for Lehigh." Lehigh opens its 2002-2003 season on Friday, November 22 as the Mountain Hawks host Dartmouth. Game time is set for 7:00 pm at Stabler Arena.
