Logie and Callahan honored at banquet

Bethlehem, PA-The annual men’s basketball banquet was held on Sunday in Iacocca Hall. Lehigh University President Gregory C. Farrington spoke to the team and its most loyal supporters while head coach Billy Taylor spoke about the program as well as naming captains for the 2002-03 season. Matt Logie was the recipient of the Most Outstanding Player Award. Logie led the team in scoring with a 15.8 points per game average and became only the fifth junior in school history to surpass the 1,000 point scoring mark. Steve Callahan won the team’s scholar-athlete award and Scott Taylor was named the coaches’ award recipient. Coach Taylor announced that seniors Mike Cowgill, Matt Crawford, Matt Logie and Zlatko Savovic would serve as the team’s captains for the 2002-03 season.
