Lehigh posts top-five finish at Rutgers Invite

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Lehigh wrapped up action at the Rutgers Invitational on Saturday as the Mountain Hawks placed fifth in the 18-school tournament with a two-round score of 640 (320, 320).  Livia Amado (79, 79) and Rosie Davies (74, 84) tied for 12th place individually with identical 158s, while Jeanne Waters of the host Scarlet Knights was the individual champion as she shot a 149 (76, 73).  Boston College was the team champion as the Eagles shot a 616 (312, 304), with St. John’s in second place with a 622 (308, 314), Rutgers in third with a 627 (316, 311), Sacred Heart in fourth (328, 311 = 639) and the Mountain Hawks in fifth.

 

Other individuals that competed for Lehigh included Ginette Schapira who shot a 161 (82, 79) and placed 22nd, Natalie Lansing who shot a 165 (85, 80) and tied for 40th place and Chelsea Michalek who tied for 44th with a 167 (85, 82).

 

Michele Holzwarth of Fairleigh Dickinson finished second individually with a 149 (73, 76) and Boston College’s Eunice Yim placed third with a 151 (76, 75).

Lehigh returns to the links next weekend when the Mountain Hawks host the Lehigh Invitational at Saucon Valley Country Club.  The two-day tournament runs on October 17-18.
