WEST POINT, N.Y. – Competing in its final road dual meet of the regular season, Lehigh was swept by Patriot League rival Army Sunday afternoon at Crandall Pool. Senior Jon Kearney and junior Dan Johnson combined to win five individual events, but it was not enough to prevent the Mountain Hawk men from falling 179-110. On the women’s side, Army won 14 of 16 events to earn a 170-126 win over the Brown and White.

Johnson swept the three sprint events on the men’s side to lead the way for the Mountain Hawks. He began by taking the 200 free in 1:43.83, and then followed by winning the 50 in 21.14 seconds and the 100 in 47.12. Kearney picked up top honors in the 1000 free, with his time of 9:47.79 coming in four seconds ahead of the second place finisher. Kearney later won the 200 fly in 1:57.27 and added a second place finish in the 100 fly.

For the Lehigh women, junior Melanie Rolish took first place in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.29. Senior Sherri Pickens led a 1-2 Mountain Hawk finish in the 200 IM, winning the event in 2:15.23. Sophomore Liz Murray finished second to Pickens. Lehigh earned nine points in both the 50 and 100 yard freestyle events, with freshman Allison Montanye, senior Terry Mongan and sophomore Laure Eull finishing 2-3-4 in the 50, and freshman Kristen Keenan joining Montanye and Mongan for a 2-3-4 finish in the 100 free.

The Mountain Hawks will return to the pool on Saturday when they wrap up the regular season at home against Bucknell. Action gets underway at noon from Jacobs Pool.
