GEORGETOWN, Del. – Lehigh wrapped up play at the Delaware State Bash at the Beach with a pair of wins on Sunday. The Mountain Hawks topped Monmouth 12-10 in eight innings in the completion of a game suspended by darkness on Saturday; then shut out Mount St. Mary’s 3-0 to avenge a loss to the Mountaineers earlier in the tournament. Lehigh now stands at 11-4 on the season and posted a 4-1 mark at the Bash at the Beach.

Against Monmouth, junior Julie Sterrett ended a high scoring affair with a walk-off home run in the bottom of the eighth inning. The homer was Sterrett’s first of the season and marked the second time this year the Brown and White won with a game-ending long ball. Lehigh is now 2-1 versus the Hawks this season.

After losing to Mount St. Mary’s in eight innings on Saturday, Lehigh got another shutout from freshman Lisa Sweeney and RBI hits from junior Heather Hamasaki and sophomore Megan Conrad in the win.

The Mountain Hawks will return to the diamond on Wednesday when they return to Delaware for a doubleheader against the Fightin’ Blue Hens. Game one gets underway at 2:00 pm from Newark, Del.
