The Mountain Hawks were held to one hit against the Scarlet Knights, but it was a big one. In the bottom of the fifth inning sophomore Megan Conrad drilled her first career home run to center field. Freshman Lisa Sweeney made the run stand, tossing a complete game three-hit shutout, striking out six to notch her fourth win of the season.
Against Stony Brook, senior catcher Mary Wieder provided the offense, belting a grand slam in the fifth inning to put Lehigh ahead. The long ball was Wieder’s third of the season, tying her total from all of last season. Senior Kate Arico pitched the first six innings in the circle to earn her third win, while Sweeney struck out the side in the seventh inning to earn her second save.
Lehigh will continue play at the Bash at the Beach on Saturday with games against Mount St. Mary’s at 9:00 am and Monmouth at 1:00 pm.
