Lehigh splits with Explorers at Jacobs Pool

On the women’s side, the 400-yard medley team of Julie Mitchell, Amanda Dickson, Sherri Pickens and Terry Mongan took first with a time of 4:09.35, while Linda Hendrixson took first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.53 and added a second first place finish in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:13.20. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Kelsey Hunter, Alysa Zemner, Jeannette Braun and Nicole Lorigan finished in a time of 3:44.64, good for first. Julie Mitchell finished ahead of everyone in the 200-yard IM, with a time of 2:15.96 and she repeated her first-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke, crossing in a time of 2:10.11. Mongan then came in first in the 100-yard free, with a time of 55.66, and Dickson took the crown in the 200-yard breaststroke, as she finished in a time of 2:29.68. For the men, the 400-yard medley team of Thomas Gilbert, Jason O’Koren, Grant Flothmeier and Michael Hay swam to first place with a time of 3:35.68, while Dan Johnson took first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:44.41. Sean Herman then took first in the 50-yard free, finishing in a time of 22.21 seconds and Flothmeier took first in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:08.09. In the diving portion for the men, Clark Cohen recorded 287.55 points off of the three-meter platform to secure first place.
Lehigh returns to the pool on Saturday, February 4 when the Mountain Hawks host Bucknell at Jacobs Pool. That meet is scheduled to begin at 11:45 AM.
