Lewisburg, PA – Lehigh continued its season on Saturday at the Art Gulden Invitational on the campus of Bucknell University in an unscored meet. On the women’s side, K.T. Hessler took home first place in the high jump with a leap of 1.68 meters, as she was the lone Mountain Hawk to take first place in an event, while on the men’s side, senior captain Nick Maiorino placed first in the weight throw with a toss of 15.97 meters.

Other Mountain Hawks to turn in solid performances were senior Lavar Pope, who placed second in the 60-meter dash trials with a time of 7.07 seconds and Vaclav Malek who took first in the 60-meter high hurdles trials with a time of 8.60 seconds. Pope then finished fourth in the 60-meter finals with a time of 7.05, and Malek also took fourth in the high hurdles racing to a time of 8.60.

For the Lehigh women, Mary Guenther leaped her way to a seventh place finish in the high jump, with a jump of 1.58 meters, while freshman Emily Roth placed sixth in the pole vault with a leap of 2.77 meters.

Lehigh returns to action next Saturday when the Mountain Hawks travel to New York to compete in the Armory Invite.
