Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh hosted the 31st annual Paul Short Run on Saturday at the Goodman Course and it was a successful race for both the men and the women. The Mountain Hawk men raced to an 11th place finish while the Lehigh women came in 18th place. Junior Rob Hampson led Lehigh for the third consecutive year in the run as he crossed the finish line in a time of 25:07. For the women, Jen Schappert continued her strong start to the season as she placed 30th with a time of 21:51.
Following Hampson for the Mountain Hawks were Sean Swift (50), Victor Vientos (60), Mark Swanson (62) and senior co-captain Alex Hudgins (69). Other Lehigh finishers on the women’s side were Carolyn House (100), Deanna Willard (102), Tracie Fails (140) and Sarah Seiler (148).
The overall winner on the men’s side was Joshua McDougal of Liberty as he crossed the finish line in a time of 23:43.53. Georgetown took the team crown for the second consecutive year as the Hoyas scored 94 points. Villanova, Auburn, La Salle, Yale, Penn, Princeton, William and Mary, Penn State and St. Joe’s rounded out the top-ten.
On the women’s side, Angela Homan of Auburn crossed the finish line in a time of 20:27.39 to win the individual crown, while the Lady Volunteers of Tennessee won the team title with 53 points. Villanova, Columbia, William and Mary, Georgetown, Buffalo, Yale, Richmond, La Salle and Auburn rounded out the top-ten for the women.

Lehigh returns to action next Saturday when the Mountain Hawks travel to Philadelphia to run in the LaSalle Invite.
