American shows their mettle with 7-0 win over Lehigh

3/27/2004 12:00:00 AM | Men's Tennis

Washington, DC – Lehigh knew it would have a tough battle with the American tennis team on Saturday, a squad picked to win the Patriot League and the beginning of the season, and they were given all they could handle as American dominated on their way to a 7-0 victory over the Mountain Hawks.

Lehigh was unable to take a single set in the match, as the Eagles won all six singles points in straight sets and took all the doubles sets as well. With the loss, the men drop to 7-4 on the season, and 0-1 in the Patriot League.

The team will have a chance to bounce back though, as their next match is Sunday against Navy at Annapolis.  The matches are set to get underway at 12:00pm.
