Mountain Hawks best Delaware at Lewis

Bethlehem, PA – The Mountain Hawks showed no rust on the court, playing for the first time in two weeks as they defeated the Delaware Blue Hens 5-2 at the Lewis Tennis Center.
The doubles point was hotly contested, as each set came down to the last game before being decided. Jon Swanson and Randall Smalley defeated Sanjay Khindri and John Tully in a tight 9-8 set, winning 8-6 in the tiebreak. Andrew Shapiro and Ryan Lloyd took the other set for Lehigh 8-6 over Philip Wayne and Jon Edwards.
In singles, Ty Esler held off Khindri 6-2, 7-6 (0) to keep Lehigh in front. Randall Smalley improved to 4-0 on the season in singles play, dispatching Tully 6-3, 6-2.
Lehigh returns to the court on Sunday in a home match against Drexel.
