Lehigh falls in 2004 debut at Yale

New Haven, CT – The Mountain Hawks returned to the pool Saturday afternoon, but did not start the new year as they may have liked, with both the men and women losing in a meet at Yale. The men lost 172-126, while the women fell 205-93.
For the women, Amanda Warrick performed well, finishing third in the 1000 free. Betsy Balaguer also did well, taking third in the 200 free and second in the 500. Linda Hendrixson was a winner for the women, taking first in the 100 breaststroke.
On the men's side, there were multiple winners despite the loss. Chris Caywood won two events, the 500 and 1000 free, as did Ross Green and Grant Flothmeier, who were victorious in the 100 and 200 fly and 100 and 200 breast, respectively. Thomas Gilbert was a winner in the 100 backstroke as well. In diving, Pat Ryan won the one and three-meter dives.
Lehigh will return to the pool next Saturday, when they head to Washington, D.C. to take on American in a Patriot League matchup.
