Women tie, men fall to Lafayette

Bethlehem, PA - The women's track and field tied Lafayette 90-90 while the men's track and field lost 91-90 Saturday afternoon at Rauch Field House. Sophomore Jessica McCreary set a new school record in the long jump recording 18' 2 1/2". Following closely behind was a 17' 2 1/2" jump by sophomore Lindsay Hinsch. The women won the 4x 800 with a time of 9:43.07 while Lafayette had a time of 9:56.37. In the women's high jump junior Katie Dukatz and freshman Katie Hessler placed first and second respectively. Dukatz jumped 5' 6 3/4'' while Hessler jumped 5' 2 3/4''. Junior Todd Scurci won the men's 1000m with a time of 2:37.31. Junior Nick Maiorino placed first in the shot put with a toss of 47' 5 1/2" while teammate Paul Koob and Michael Kitchko placed fourth and fifth respectively. Senior, captain Chris Lambert won the 500m with a time of 1:07.81. In the men's 3000m, Mark Swanson won with a time of 8:55.17, while teammates Rob Hampson and Alex Hudgins placed second and fifth, respectively. In the men's triple jump, junior Francis Vincent won with a jump of 47' 1 3/4". Next Saturday, the Mountain Hawks host the Covert Classic at Rauch Field House. For complete results,
