WHY LEHIGH? "Lehigh University is the type of school I was looking for in academics, athletics and size. I fell in love with the beautiful campus, and the women's soccer coaching staff made me feel very welcomed. I am looking forward to living in a different place, meeting new people and challenging myself for the next four years."
AS A SENIOR (2022): Named third team All-Patriot League… Awarded CSC Academic All-District honors… Started in all 18 games for the Mountain Hawks… Scored her first collegiate goal against Penn (9/4)... Added a second goal later in the season against Navy (10/7)... Tallied three assists for Lehigh against Drexel (8/25), Delaware (9/1) and Siena (9/8)... Named Patriot League Midfielder of the Week on 10/10.
AS A JUNIOR (2021): Played in all 17 games, starting six … Finished with two points, both assists, while adding 10 shots (five on goal) … Part of a defensive unit that allowed 1.47 goals per game (25 in 17 games) … Included was one shutout while allowing just one goal on 10 occasions … Dished an assist in big 2-1 win over Colgate (10/13) … Had an assist and career-high tying three shots and two shots on goal vs. Army West Point (9/18) … Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
AS A SOPHOMORE (Spring, 2021): Saw action in five games, starting twice in the midfield … Dished an assist in the season opener vs. American (3/6). Was recognized as Patriot League Midfielder of the Week … Finished the season with three shots, two on goal, all coming at Bucknell (3/21) … Part of Lehigh’s defense, which finished fourth in the Patriot League in goals against average (0.60) … Mountain Hawks allowed just four goals in six games, including three shutouts – tied for first in the league … Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
AS A FRESHMAN (2019): Played in nine games, starting two in the midfield … Fired two shots for the season, at Duquesne (9/1) and vs. Saint Joseph’s (9/15) … Made collegiate debut in the season opener against Delaware (8/23) … Made first-career start at Fairleigh Dickinson (8/29) … Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
BEFORE LEHIGH: Enjoyed a decorated career at Middle Creek High School … In the ninth grade, was named MaxPreps Player of the Year for MCHS soccer … That year, MCHS was East Regional Champions and a North Carolina State Finalist … In grade 10, Murphy was named first team All-Conference, was named to the News and Observer All-Metro Team and named the MCHS Player of the Year … Also played on NC Courage Academy, ranked No. 2 nationally, and was the Mid-Atlantic Conference Champions for the 2017-18 season … Attended the U.S. Soccer Market Training Centers and Combines, was a U.S. soccer ID2 camp participant, and qualified and played in the ECNL National Finals for three years … In the classroom, was a member of the National Honor Society, was named Academic All-Conference, earned a spot on the "All A" Honor Roll, "A/B" Honor Roll and won the MCHS Scholars Award.
