Why Lehigh? “I was looking for a University with a great business program and the opportunity to play Division I tennis. Lehigh has both. When I came for a visit, the campus was so beautiful and I realized that’s where I wanted to be.”
Chernykh on Shook: “He really cares about the team. He is dedicated and passionate. I enjoy being around him because he is very understanding and inspiring.”
As a freshman… went 4-1 in singles action playing at the bottom of Lehigh’s lineup.
Personal: Son of Valeriy and Iraida… hails from Siberia, but spent time living in Spain and Germany pursuing tennis… lists Marat Safin and Roger Federer as favorite pros.
