Joe Zitarelli is in his first year as an Assistant Coach of the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks Club Hockey team.  Joe graduated from Penn State University with a BS in Physics and Pre-Medicine in 1979.  He then graduated from Hahnemann University (now Drexel) in 1983 with a Doctorate in Medicine.  He played his High School hockey for Ridley High School and 1 year as a goalie for the Penn State Club Hockey team.  He has been coaching youth hockey since 1991 at both the tier I and tier II levels.  He coached the Crestwood High School Varsity in the Northeastern PA Scholastic Hockey League from 2002 to 2007 and has more recently been coaching Southern Lehigh and Liberty Middle and High School teams in the Lehigh Valley Scholastic Hockey League.

Joe resides in Center Valley, PA with his wife of 30 years, Mary Beth, and their son Joseph who is studying Civil Engineering with a minor in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering at Penn State, and played 2 years for the Penn State Icers and 2 years for the Division 2 Ice Lions.
