Why Lehigh?: “Lehigh is a great fit academically and athletically. The opportunity was one of the best I’ve had. I’ve seen myself becoming a better athlete and person in the long run.”
As a junior (2022): Started 10 games in the secondary… worked primarily at cornerback but saw some time at safety… led team with four pass breakups… finished sixth on team with 37 tackles… grabbed line interception of the season against Monmouth (10/1)… had back-to-back seven-tackle efforts against Georgetown (9/10) and Richmond (9/17).
As a sophomore (2021): Named second team All-Patriot League for second straight season… started all 11 games at cornerback… career-high eight tackles at Richmond (9/11)… had three tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and first career interception against Holy Cross (10/30)… closed season with six tackle effort in Rivalry 157 win over Lafayette (11/20).
As a freshman (spring 2021): Second team All-Patriot League honoree… only Patriot League freshman to earn all-league honors… started all three games at cornerback… made five tackles in games against Bucknell (4/3) and Lafayette (4/10)… had big game against Bucknell, with five tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack and two pass breakups… limited Bucknell’s Brandon Sanders to three receptions for 24 yards after he had a 12-catch, 179-yard effort the week prior… five tackles and half a tackle for loss at Lafayette…named to Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
In high school: Team captain as a senior… more than 30 tackles and a forced fumble in senior season… selected to the Prince George’s vs. SMAC and Prince George’s vs. Baltimore City All-Star Games… also lettered in track and field… member of the "PeerForward" program and Science and Technology program.
Personal: Son of LaTroy and Lisa Wimberly… siblings Keeshawn Perry, LaVontae Wimberly and Zoe Wimberly… father played football at Bridgewater College.
