2022 OUTDOORS: Finished seventh in the 400m (51.81), ninth in the 200m (23.50) and was a member of the winning 4x400 (3:25.59) at the Navy Spring Invitational... Won the 4x400 at the Lafayette Dual with a time of 3:21.98... Finished second in the 400m (50.45) and 4x400 (3:28.13) and 11th in the 200m (23.33) at the Lehigh T&F Invite... Recorded a sixth-place finish at the Bison Outdoor Classic in the 4x400 (3:21.87)... Ernst earned a PR in the 200m at the Coach P Invitational where he finished fourth with a time of 22.87... Competed at the Penn Relays in the 4x400... Recorded a second-place finish in the 400m at the Carol and John Covert Classic (50.19)... At the Patriot League Championships, Ernst earned a PR in the prelims of the 400m where he finshed seventh (49.39)... At the Patriot League Championships, Ernst finished 10th in the prelims of the 400m (51.09) and was a member of the fifth-place 4x400 (3:25.16).
2021 OUTDOORS: Finished 13th overall in the 400m at the Patriot League Championships (52.16) and was a member of the 4x400m relay team who finished fifth (3:23.87)… Tallied a fourth-place finish in the 400m at the Lafayette Open (51.48) and a seventh-place finish in the 400m at the Lehigh Happy Easter Races (52.19).

2019 OUTDOORS: Won 400m at Covert Classic with time of 52.32… finished eighth in 200m at Covert Classic (23.80)… Finished 17th overall in the 400m at the Greyhound Invitational (51.62)… Finished 35th overall in the 200m, earning a personal record (23.67) and finished 37th overall in the 400m (51.89) at the Coach Pollard Invitational… Finished fifth overall in the 400m at the Lehigh versus Lafayette Dual Meet, earning a personal record (51.53)… Finished 11th overall in the 400m (52.86) and 14th overall in the 200m (24.35) at the Lafayette Invitational… Finished 16th overall in the 4x400m relay (3:33.17) and competed in the 400m (54.12) at the Adidas Winthrop University Invitational.
2018 INDOORS: Finished 11th overall in the 200m (24.10) and 11th overall in the 400m (53.78) at the Bucknell Tune Up, earning a personal record in both events… Finished seventh overall in the 500m at the Navy Invitational, earning a personal record (1:09.72)… Finished fifth overall in the 500m at the Lehigh versus Lafayette Meet (1:11.24).
BEFORE LEHIGH: Varsity track athlete all four years at Garden City High School, competing in 400m and 4x400 relay… placed second in 400m in County in 2018 and was a state qualifier… won Henry Thresher Award for Most Outstanding Runner for men’s track in 2018… Best Teammate Award for track 2018… Most Outstanding Bowler 2018…. All-county team bowling and all county individual bowling status 2017… letter winner and team captain in bowling, cross country and track and field… National Honor Society, Latin Honor Society and German Honor Society member… has run two half marathons and a marathon relay in New York.
PERSONAL: Son of Dr. Chip and Kirsten Ernst… younger sister Victoria… father played football and lacrosse at Penn.

Thoughts on Lehigh Coaching Staff: All of the coaches here are awesome. They are some of the nicest and most caring people I have ever met. Coach Matt does a great job of bringing the team together and making everyone feel like they’re part of a big family.
Major & Why: I am pursuing electrical engineering because I have always been fascinated about how things work, especially electronics, and I plan to double major in German because I have taken it ever since first grade and I know that continuing it will help me greatly in the future.
