BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh first-year pitcher Addison Moorman was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday. Moorman earned victories in the circle for both of Lehigh's wins last week, highlighted by a three-hit shutout in the Mountain Hawks' 3-0 win Sunday in the series finale at Boston University.
Moorman went 2-1 in three starts last week, throwing 18 innings in the circle. Sunday in Boston, Moorman limited BU to three singles in her first career complete game shutout as the Mountain Hawks snapped the Terriers' 19-game winning streak. Moorman struck out three and did not walk a batter in the victory.
Earlier in the week, Moorman carried a shutout into the seventh inning against Drexel, earning the win in Lehigh's 4-3 victory over the Dragons. She also had three strikeouts in the win over Drexel.
For the season, Moorman leads the Mountain Hawks with seven wins and a 3.29 ERA over 78.2 innings of work. The complete game shutout was the first for a Lehigh pitcher in 2026.
Also Monday, junior shortstop Peyton Sward garnered honorable mention recognition. Sward hit safely in all four games for the Mountain Hawks, going 5-for-10 at the plate with four stolen bases. She scored two runs and had an RBI triple in Saturday's series opener in Boston.
The Mountain Hawks (17-16) are slated to host Princeton Wednesday at 4 p.m. in non-league action before resuming Patriot League play at home against Holy Cross April 4-5.
