BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League announced its men's basketball major awards and all-league teams on Monday afternoon. Junior guard Nasir Whitlock was named to the first team while sophomore center Hank Alvey earned a spot on the second team.
Whitlock earns all-league recognition for the first time in his career, becoming the first Lehigh player to receive first team honors since Tyler Whitney-Sidney in 2024. Alvey earns his spot on the second team after being named to the all-rookie team last season.
Whitlock has been stellar all season long, averaging a Patriot League-best 20.8 points per game on an efficient 47.8% from the floor and 43.1% from three. The junior captain also averages 3.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and nearly a steal per game. Whitlock scored in double-figures in 30 of 31 games, has put up 20+ points 16 times, and leads the NCAA Division-I basketball with eight 30+ point games. In addition, Whitlock's four Patriot League Player of the Week wins are the most of any player this season.
Alvey improved greatly upon a solid first-year season, averaging 14.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, a league-best 1.8 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game. The Mapleton, Illinois native has reached double-figures 19 times, scored 20+ points 11 times, and has posted three double-doubles. Alvey received Patriot League Player of the Week honorable mention twice this season.
No. 2 Lehigh will host a Patriot League Championship quarterfinal game against the winner of No. 7 Lafayette vs. No. 10 Holy Cross on Thursday, March 5 at 7 p.m.
