Lehigh Aims For Three Wins In A Row At Navy On Wednesday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's basketball looks for its third win in a row on Wednesday evening at Alumni Hall in Annapolis, Maryland against first-place Navy.
Lehigh (12-15, 8-6 PL) trails Navy (21-6, 13-1 PL) in the all-time series 58-36. The Midshipmen defeated the Mountain Hawks in a thrilling 82-79 double overtime contest at Stabler Arena on January 17. Navy has won six of the previous ten meetings against Lehigh.
If Lehigh wins, Murray H. Goodman '48 head coach Brett Reed would win his 300th game and become the second coach in Patriot League history to reach 300 wins. In addition, Reed's record vs. Navy would improve to 22-18.
Sophomore Hank Alvey and junior Joshua Ingram combined for 42 points to help Lehigh men's basketball defeat rival Lafayette 78-69 at the Kirby Sports Center on Saturday evening. The Mountain Hawks have now won two in a row and sit in third place in the Patriot League standings. Alvey led the way for Lehigh with 22 points with nine rebounds, four steals, two assists, and a block. The sophomore has now scored 20+ points nine times this season. Ingram was spectacular, scoring 20 points on 9-11 shooting with five assists, a steal, and a rebound. Nasir Whitlock added 15 points, five assists, five rebounds, and two steals. Andrew Urosevic put up 11 points in 24 minutes off the bench. Edouard Benoit provided seven points and eight rebounds while Peter Kramer chipped in three points.
Navy enters Wednesday's matchup winners of their past nine games, holding first-place and a 13-1 record in the Patriot League. The Midshipmen defeated second-place Colgate 84-80 on Saturday. Their last loss came on January 12 against American 65-51 in D.C. Patriot League Preseason Player of the Year Austin Benigni leads the team at 17.5 points per game while senior center Aidan Kehoe averages a double-double of 15.5 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.
Following Wednesday's game, the Mountain Hawks will host Boston University on Sunday, February 22 at 12 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
Wednesday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and is available on Fox Sports Radio 94.7 FM and 1230 AM.
