Zhu Posts Top 10 Finish at BGSU Women's Intercollegiate

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – Senior Yuki Zhu posted a top 10 individual finish to lead the Lehigh women's golf team in its spring debut, as the Mountain Hawks completed play at the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate Wednesday at the Wigwam Resort. Zhu tied for eighth place at three over par 216 (75-70-71), including two rounds of even par or lower.
As a team Lehigh finished 10th out of 15 teams at 909 (304-301-304).
Zhu's final round 71 included six birdies and seven pars.
Lehigh's No. 2 finisher was sophomore Reese Hannon, who shot 230 (77-75-78) and tied for 46th place. Hannon's final round 78 included one birdie.
Junior Stefania Fedun fiished two strokes behind Hannon, claiming 54th place at 232 (77-77-78). Fedun birdied two of her first three holes in Wednesday's final round.
One stroke behind Fedun was sophomore Alana Hall, who tied for 55th place at 233 (76-80-77). Hall made a pair of birdies in her final round.
First-year Alisia Ren tied for 59th place at 235 (76-79-80). Ren also carded two birdies in her final round.
UTEP claimed the team title at 863 (282-286-295), with the Miners defeating UT Arlington by five strokes.
Amelia Fridlund of UTEO was the individual medalist at three under par 210 (70-71-69). Fridlund defeated two players by one stroke.
The Mountain Hawks will be back in action at the El Campeon Collegiate, Feb. 23-24 in Howey-in-Hills, Fla.
