Mountain Hawks Pull Away In Second Half For Rivalry Win, 62-48

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Behind a balanced offensive attack and a strong defensive effort, Lehigh defeated Lafayette 62-48 Saturday at Stabler Arena in the Rivalry presented by Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute, part of Jefferson Health.

Four players scored in double figures with first-year Alana Reddy and sophomore Belle Bramer leading the way with 15. Reddy set a new career high, while Bramer tied her career high. Juniors Gracyn Lovette and Whitney Lind both scored 14 points as Lehigh won its second straight.

The Mountain Hawks shot nearly 40 percent from the field and made 11-of-30 from deep, while limiting Lafayette to 31.5 percent shooting.
Lehigh improves to 10-8 overall and 6-2 in Patriot League play.

Lafayette led by as many as seven in the opening quarter and finished the period with a 20-16 lead.

Lehigh battled back in the second, doubling up the Leopards 18-9 in the frame to take a 34-29 lead into halftime. Made 3-pointers by Reddy and then Lovette tied the game at 22 and then 25 with Lind then converting a layup to give the Mountain Hawks the lead for good.
Another Reddy 3-pointer put Lehigh up 15 with 2:49 left in the third quarter and the Mountain Hawks led by 11 after 30 minutes.

Lafayette (7-12, 3-5 PL) got no closer than nine with the Mountain Hawks maintaining control throughout the final quarter.

Reddy's 15 points came on 5-of-12 shooting from 3-point land.
Lehigh held a 38-31 advantage on the glass. Lovette added seven rebounds and six assists and three steals to go along with her 14 points. Â

Teresa Kiewiet led Lafayette with 17 points.

The Mountain Hawks are back home Wednesday night to host Army West Point in the Pink Game, presented by Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute, part of Jefferson Health. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
