Lehigh’s Second-Half Push Not Enough Against Army at Stabler

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh fell to Army, 64-55, on Wednesday evening in the Pink Game, presented by Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute, part of Jefferson Health. With the loss, the Mountain Hawks dropped to 6-3 in Patriot League play and 10-9 overall. Army moved into sole possession of second place in the league at 7-2 and improved to 16-4 on the season.
Lily Fandre led Lehigh in scoring once again, finishing with 21 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the field. The league's leading scorer in conference play, Fandre has now scored 20 or more points in five of her last seven games.
The Black Knights were led by Camryn Tade, who scored 21 points on 9-of-11 shooting. Kya Smith added 17 points in the win, while Brooke Wilson finished with 11 points and five steals.
Army started fast against the Mountain Hawks, shooting 50% from the field in the first half and forcing 11 turnovers. The Black Knights were able to control the tempo early and built a 34-20 lead heading into the break.
Lehigh responded in the second half, opening the third quarter on a 12-3 run to cut into the deficit. The surge was highlighted by a Gracyn Lovette 3-pointer, as Lovette finished with 10 points and three assists.
Trailing entering the fourth quarter, Lehigh battled back. Four straight free throws from Fandre followed by a Belle Bramer layup cut the deficit to five with just over two minutes remaining. Army responded moments later, as Reese Ericson knocked down a 3-pointer to push the Black Knights' lead back to eight. Army then held on over the final two minutes to secure the victory.
