Afanasewicz and Trimmer Receive Patriot League Weekly Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh senior Lucy Afanasewicz was named the Patriot League Women's Runner of the Week, and first-year Grace Trimmer was the Patriot League Women's Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday morning.Â
Afanasewicz logged a 5K time of 17:47.4 to lead the Mountain Hawks at the Ted Owen Invitational, Saturday in New Britain, Conn. This was an improvement on her previous cross country 5k, improving by almost 30 seconds. Her time secured an 11th place finish in the event.
Trimmer was the seventh Mountain Hawk to finish, making it her second week in a row of scoring points for Lehigh. She clocked a time of 19:04.1 in her first collegiate 5K, getting her 39th place overall.
The Mountain Hawks are back at home for their next competition. Lehigh will host the 51st Paul Short Run on Friday, October 3rd.
