Lehigh Drops League Opener To Bucknell

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - In the Patriot League opener on Saturday afternoon, the Lehigh women's soccer team fell 2-0 to the Bucknell Bison.
 
The first goal of the contest came in the 11th minute. Bucknell's Katie McConnell capitalized on a penalty kick after a foul in the box, giving the Bison a 1-0 lead.
 
Bucknell's second goal came in the 31st minute when Dani Howard fed a pass to Gaby Parker who put the ball in the net to give the Bison a 2-0 advantage.
 
The second half was scoreless between the teams, with Bucknell holding a 11-7 advantage in shots.
 
R'Reeyah Mabry-Francis played in net for the Mountain Hawks, making a career-high seven saves. Bucknell's Reese Dolan made six saves.
 
Aminah Baruwa led Lehigh with three shots while Taylor Latini, Faith Dobosiewicz and Esther Brossard each tallied two.
 
Lehigh (2-4-2, 0-1-0 PL) returns to action on Friday as it hosts Army at 6 p.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex.
