BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh first-year outfielder Kelly Fricker has been named to the NFCA All-East Region second team, it was announced Thursday. The recognition caps an outstanding season for Fricker, who established herself as one of the nation's top first-year student-athletes.
Â
The 2025 Patriot League Rookie of the Year and a first team All-Patriot League honoree, Fricker was named to the NFCA's Freshman of the Year Top 25 List last month. Fricker started all 52 games for the Mountain Hawks, batting .439 with 79 hits, 17 doubles, 27 RBIs and 41 runs scored. The 79 hits tied Lehigh's single-season record and rank ninth in the nation. Fricker's .439 batting average tops the Patriot League and ranks 24th nationally. Her 17 doubles are tied for the league lead and tie for 21st nationally.
Â
A two-time Patriot League Rookie of the Week, Fricker had 28 multi-hit games in 2025, including seven games with three or more hits. Fricker had a 4-for-4 effort with two doubles and two RBIs in an early April win over Bucknell and later went 3-for-3 with five RBIs in a Patriot League road victory at Colgate.
Â
The West Chester, Pa., native recorded three of Lehigh's seven hits in last week's Patriot League Tournament, including an RBI double against Bucknell that tied Carley Barjaktarovich '23 for the single-season hit record. She was one of Lehigh's two representatives on the All-Tournament Team along with pitcher Chloe Hess.
Â
Fricker's selection gives Lehigh at least one all-region honoree in five consecutive seasons. For the second straight year, Lehigh's lone all-region is a first-year player, with Fricker joining fellow John S. Steckbeck Award winner Peyton Sward, who was a second-team selection in 2024.
